Australian Solutions Centre (ASC) was formed in response
to an industry need for the effective management of
payment disputes in the construction industry. ASC is
uniquely positioned in that ASC is a dedicated ANA.
As such ASC is not distracted by unrelated membership
or other business issues.
ASC maintains a policy of having a small highly skilled
panel of adjudicators each determining a larger number
of adjudications. ASC believes that less adjudicators
doing more adjudications is a recipe for quality determinations.
The ASC adjudicator panel is made up of hand-selected
construction industry professionals with extensive technical,
management, commercial or legal dispute resolution experience.
ASC adjudicators are not selected on a 'rotary"
or "next in line" basis, each adjudication
nomination is carefully considered with the most appropriate
adjudicator being selected. The diverse experience of
the panel is such that ASC can respond to all levels
of the industry from small subcontractors through to
large building design and construct professionals.
ASC can recommend professional groups to assist both
Claimants and Respondents with education/training, the
preparation of payment claims, payment schedules, adjudication
applications and adjudication responses, service of
submissions and if required debt recovery processes
through the court. Through these recommended groups
ASC has the ability to provide a complete "end
to end" solution for Building and Construction
Industry payment problems. ASC receives no
commission or revenue in any form from such references,
it is provided as a service to any person or
organisation needing assistance.
ASC is authorised as a Nominating Authority (ANA) by
the following:
• The New South Wales State Government (Department
of Commerce) under the Building and Construction Industry
Security of Payment Act 1999.
• The Victorian State Government (Building Commission)
under the Building and Construction Industry Security
of Payment Act 2002.
• The Queensland State Government (Building Services
Authority) under the Building and Construction Industry
Payments Act 2004.
• The Tasmanian State Government (Department of Justice Workplace Standards Tasmania) under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2009.
• The ACT Government (ACT Planning & Land Authority) under the Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2009.
This allows ASC to service the entire "East Coast"
with uniform processes and professional assistance.
